The Pixel 11 Pro has a 48MP 5x telephoto, and the iPhone Duo has no telephoto lens at all. That is the biggest camera difference between Google’s flagship and Apple’s first foldable. Apple announced the Duo at its September 2026 event, and Apple’s page says pre-orders start October 16 with availability from October 23. PopSci’s roundup lists it at $1,999. The Pixel 11 series went on sale on August 20, and the Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099.

The closer Pixel rival is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,899, which also went on sale August 20. It is listed here because its cameras are far weaker than the Pro’s.

Pixel specs come from Android Authority’s launch coverage and its Pro Fold article. iPhone Duo specs come from Apple’s page. Apple’s page does not list the Duo’s RAM, aperture or battery capacity, so those are left out.

Camera

Apple’s own comparison table marks the Duo’s telephoto as not applicable. It lists up to 2x optical-quality zoom from the 48MP Dual Fusion system, with shooting at 0.5x, 1x and 2x. The Pixel 11 Pro has a 5x telephoto, lists optical-quality zoom at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x according to T-Mobile’s spec summary, and has a 120x Pro Zoom ceiling. A BGR review found Pro Zoom unreliable past about 80x.

The Duo’s camera pitch is about the foldable body. Apple lists Duo Preview, which shows the person you are photographing a live preview on the outer display, Kid Cue, which uses animations on the outer display to draw a child’s eyes to the lens, Smart Take, which takes the shot when everyone is ready, and Duo FaceTime, which lets nearby people join a call on the outer display. Apple says the main sensor uses 48MP frames throughout its imaging pipeline.

The Pixel 11 Pro’s pitch is hardware and night features. Google says the new telephoto gathers 30% more light than last year’s, and Instant Night Sight is up to 4.5x faster than conventional Night Sight, per 9to5Google. Its 8K video comes through cloud-based Video Boost.

No hands-on photo comparison between the Pixel 11 Pro and the iPhone Duo was checked, so image quality is not ranked here.

AI features

Apple says the Duo ships with Siri AI, a conversational assistant that is rolling out in English to start, and Apple Intelligence tools such as Clean Up and Image Playground. Apple’s footnote says features that rely on server-side models, including Siri AI and the photo editing tools, are subject to daily usage limits, and that Siri AI will not initially be available in the EU on iOS.

Google’s Pixel 11 phones debut Gemini Intelligence. Android Authority lists Circle to Search in the camera app, proactive suggestions that surface content from other apps, and real-time audio dubbing in Live Translate. Camera Coach, Magic Capture and Camera Looks are among the camera features, with Video Boost relying on Google’s cloud.

Both companies therefore use server-side processing for some tasks. Neither page checked gives a full on-device versus cloud breakdown.

Which to buy

Pixel 11 Pro if telephoto reach, 120x zoom and a $900 lower price matter. It is the stronger camera system on paper.

iPhone Duo if you want an iPhone with a 7.6-inch inner screen, Touch ID in the side button and the foldable camera features above, and you can live without a telephoto lens.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold if you want a foldable on Android. It has the larger inner screen but a much weaker camera system than the Pro.
